Our Story

The origins of our company date back to Jay Cobb Appliances founded to serve post WWII consumer appliance needs in 1945.

White Plains served as world headquarters to many companies such as IBM, General Foods, Nestlé, and Standard Oil. In 1956 Edna Cobb formed Industrial Sales to serve the appliance needs of employees of these companies.

The company’s philosophy has remained unchanged for over half a century: offer our customers the best possible personal service, selection, price and value in an
unpressured environment. There are no sales quotas to meet here, unlike at the big box and chain appliance stores.

We are proud to be a family-owned business inspired by the passion of our founder serving second and third generations of our customers. We have existed on word-of-mouth recommendations exclusively, since our inception.

Simply call or email us with make and model numbers. We will gladly give you prices and arrange delivery/installation and even make suggestions for alternative appliances to suit your needs better.

"For years, everyone in my family has purchased large appliances from Mrs. Cobb, whose company has a warehouse somewhere in Westchester... She has the best prices anywhere, and believe me, I priced everywhere—hyperventalating all the while—before I bought mine: a DCS oven, Jenn Air French Door fridge, and Miele dishwasher... Even my parents swear by Mrs. Cobb, and they are the most critical shoppers anywhere!"
